1929 Small Size National Bank Notes
In 1929, all U.S. currency was reduced to the smaller size still used today. National Bank Notes from this era came in two types: Type 1 shows the charter number twice on the face, while Type 2 shows it four times. Small-size nationals are the most affordable entry point for collectors, with common examples available for under $100, though notes from rare banks can still reach four or five figures.
